Summer Fun Really Heats Up the Weekend of June 15-16-17

School’s out and the temperature’s rising. Sounds like the perfection combination of reasons to head for Boyne Country in northern Michigan.

When you come, be sure to bring a thirst and an appetite. On June 15, a Waterfront Wine Festival will be pouring good times on the Harbor Springs waterfront. Sample the best of international wines and breweries while listening to soothing jazz. Tickets are only $15 and will be available starting at 5:45pm.

On June 16, you can dig into two mouthwatering “Taste” festivals. The Taste of Charlevoix will be held in Charlevoix’s East Park and Taste of the North will be serving up special delights at the Petoskey History Museum on Petoskey’s Waterfront.

After eating ‘til your heart’s content, browse through the Garden and Landscape Expo at Petoskey’s Emmet County Fairgrounds. It’s a premier showcase for outdoor and garden-based businesses. Tickets are $3 per person or $5 per family.

The evening of the 16th, tell somebody special “I want to hold your hand.” Then head for SHOUT! A Fantastic Tribute to the Fab Four at Petoskey’s Crooked Tree Arts Center. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 students for a Beatles tribute that clearly stands out from others.

Sunday, June 17 kick offs the Sunday Vesper Concert Series in Bay View.

All weekend long you’ll be able to check out some pretty incredible boats at the In-Water Boat Show at the Bay Harbor Lake Marina. In-water displays run from personal watercraft up to mega-yachts. How long’s a mega-yacht? Oh, about 95 feet. Dealers from as far away as Ft. Lauderdale will be presenting at this spectacular.

Also, all weekend, the Petoskey Soccer Tournament will be taking place at various fields throughout the area. This is one tourney you’re sure to get a kick out of. Oops, sorry ‘bout that.

As you can see, it’s one terrific weekend. Hope to see you here.
